For the Tulsans-- How to get 12 grocery items for less than $2!!

I don't usually go to Homeland (located at 31st and Harvard or in Catoosa) unless there are some great deals. Well, if you've gotten the Kraft coupons- this is the week to visit them! Check out these deals

**Just to warn you, Homeland will only double the first coupon per item so if you get multiples of the same item, you'll want to use seperate transactions! For example, if you buy 2 Kraft Salad Dressings and use 2 coupons only 1 will be doubled- so do them in seperate transactions.

Don't miss the great deals out there..

If you haven't seen this yet... I'm so sorry I haven't gotten a chance to post about it. Life with a newborn seems to be a bit more challenging than I had expected and I've also been working a lot from home and at my husband's office helping to get our small business started.

Check out all the many places you can get some high quality Kraft product coupons here

and then check out the great deals at Target you can use some of them on over here

I hope to get out tomorrow and catch some free Hershey Bliss candy bars and cheap crackers and Mayo. Not to mention taking advantage of the final week of free apples and picking up some free Kraft BBQ sauce (just in time for grilling)

I'll try to make time to post the deals of the week. I've been out of the loop but the local stores have had a few good sales.

I'm hoping to catch some cheap Dr.Pepper from Reasors tonight before that sale ends!

Back to blog...

As you can see, it's obviously been a few days since I've posted and completely missed the deals of the week this week. Well, about Wednesday my week went a little crazy when my 22 month old son threw up everywhere. By the next day, my 3 year old and I were showing signs of sickness. Fortunately, my husband was able to work from home and help me out because if taking care of four kids wasn't enough...

Anyhow, I apologize for my absence this week. This blog IS called Mommy Management-- and that's exactly what I was doing-- being Mommy. Family first and everything else follows.

Everyone's well and just recovering. I now have a massive pile of laundry and a dirty house that need my attention, but I hope to join you all tomorrow with Meal Plan Monday and the deals for Target and Walgreens.

Thanks for reading as I continue my journey to Manage Mommy!

Feel free to comment and tell me what deals you got this week!!

Free and Cheap Food for Tomorrow (4/29)

Domino's is giving away FREE LUNCH tomorrow (4/29) from 11am to 2pm. Stop by any participating location for a carryout order of their NEW Bread Bowl Pasta!

Tomorrow night is 31 CENT SCOOP NIGHT at Baskin-Robbins! From 5pm to 10pm, stop by a participating location for a small scoop of their delicious ice cream for $0.31. This helps firefighters and there's usually a fire truck. The firefighters will let your kids get in and look around! Cheap family fun!!

Is it just me or is coffee getting into everything these days? Are we that addicted?... I guess I am because I'm going to go here to print a coupon for $1/1 Coffee Toffee Twisted Frosty or Frosty-cino at Wendy's. Coffee and ice cream... doesn't get much better!

Target Possible Freebies and Great Deals

Target has some pretty good deals this week. I would highly recommend signing up for A Full Cup to access their Target Coupon Generator which keeps the past Target coupons that have not expired yet. I don't know what I'd do without A Full Cup!

I'll be heading to Target this week for some diapers, cheap Kashi waffles and free apples

Meal Plan Monday

So last week's meal plan went fairly well. I really liked having a list of meals that I could look to and prepare without having to think too hard about that looming question of "What's for dinner?"!

Because some of our plans changed, our menu changed with it and we didn't eat a few items on the list (so you'll see them resurface this week). We ended up celebrating Mother's Day early for my mother-in-law because she's working on a project in Germany and won't be back until the end of May- so Sunday was out to eat (again... yum, but ugh on the pocketbook) and then dinner at my sister-in-law's. This week should be a little more stable and (hopefully) not so much eating out (or none at all!).

I was SUPER excited tonight though. I made my shopping trip to Reasor's because a lot on my list was on sale. While I was going to get milk, I spotted the half-gallons of Vitamin D milk on price reduction for $0.99!! I ended up with 8 half-gallons and am sad that I didn't get more! They were reduced because their expiration date was May 5th (which is NEXT Tuesday!)- my family goes through 2-3 gallons of milk A WEEK! Plus, I had already planned to have a baking day this week (a day to do a bunch of "bulk baking") and I could use up the milk in my recipes. So now my refrigerator is full of half-gallons and my husband thinks I'm crazy. :) (He thought that before now anyway)

I didn't end up getting around to baking the cinnamon rolls last week, so guess what's rising in the kitchen (at 10:30 at night)- you guessed: cinnamon roll dough! I made a double batch and plan to take some pans to my elderly neighbors across the street. I'll prep everything tonight and actually bake them tomorrow. I ended up using my Betty Crocker recipe instead of The Pioneer Woman's. I am planning on using one of her other recipes this week.I've also got some beans soaking in the crockpot so I can have them ready to cook tomorrow. I'll be using some in my chili this week and freezing the rest to use in other dishes throughout the next weeks (just think: taco salad, refried bean burritos, beans and rice...) Anyhow- back to the meals for THIS week--here's the rundown:

Breakfasts (all paired with fresh fruit)
Cereal
Cinnamon Rolls
Sweet Potato Pancakes (leftover from the big batch I made last week and threw in the freezer)
Oatmeal
Eggs, Bacon, Waffles (on Saturday)

Lunches
Ham Sandwiches, chips, fruit
Cheese quesadillas, fruit smoothie
PBJs, fruit, yogurt
Homemade Pizza, Salad
Leftovers x2

Dinners
BBQ meatballs, mashed potatoes, peas
Chili, corn, homemade bread
Roast, mashed potatoes, peas, homemade rolls (the mother-in-law is coming over for dinner- gotta impress)
Chicken Spaghetti, salad, green beans, homemade breadsticks (aka homemade rolls in breadstick shape)
Hamburgers, Hot dogs, oven fries, corn
Homemade Mac & Cheese, broccoli

So what's on your menu this week??
...More tomorrow about Target and Walgreen deals and cheap Baskin-Robbins ice cream this week!!

Meal Plan Monday

Join me in my new adventure. I'll be (trying) to post my meal plan for the week on Mondays. I follow alot of other mom-bloggers who do this. I think it will keep me accountable for making my menu and I hope to hear about your delicious menus as well. I'm always looking for new and exciting items to add to the menu!

Breakfasts (I pair all our breakfast with whatever fruit is on hand)
Cereal
Sweet potato pancakes
Waffles
Homemade cinnamon rolls (I'm hoping to try this bulk recipe from The Pioneer Woman and freeze the other pans)

Lunches
Out (today because it was my birthday)
Homemade French Toast sticks, fruit smoothies, sausage
PBJs/Leftovers
Cheesy Broccoli Baked Potatoes
Ham sandwiches, fruit, chips
Homemade pizza, salad
Roast, potatoes, peas

Dinners
Mac & Cheese, peas
Steak fajitas
Meatball subs, green beans
Hamburgers & Hot dogs, potato fries, corn
Out (we have friends coming into town-- we don't normally eat out this much!)
Leftovers/Enchiladas (depending on if some friends come over Sunday night)

There ya go! Simple but a variety. It's beautiful weather this week so I'm all about the grilling. I also have some extra time and energy this week so there's more items that will take more preparation than my usual pull from the freezer stash.

So... what's for dinner at your house this week?

She's here!.. so can I go back to blogging now?

So sorry for the long delay in blogging! I know a lot of ladies check in for the deals of the week and I've been bad about updating lately. The end of my pregnancy was rough, and I had more than a few false alarms... but it was all worth it!

Our 4th child- Jordan Charity Haught arrived on Tuesday, March 24th at 3:55am! Needless to say, we didn't get a wink of sleep til Thursday ;) I usually bounce back to normal in a day or two, but, like my first child, I had some bleeding issues after the birth and my hemoglobin was down to a 12.5 (out of 15). But I'm back to semi-normal now, gaining strength each day.

She was 9lbs 1oz when she was born, and she's already back up to birth weight. Now that all the chaos is settling, I'm looking forward to getting back into blogging. I'm hoping to add the deals for Lawrence, KS (where a lot of friends and family live) to help those ladies!

I really love having a chest freezer! Ours was given to us by my parents when they decided to change to an upright freezer a few years ago. It has been a huge blessing ever since.

The only problem with having an additional freezer is that food can get "lost" in it quite easily. This leads to frost-bitten food that gets tossed (which is NOT what we're trying to accomplish here). This can even happen in your regular freezer if its jammed full of food (from stocking up on those sales I tell you about right?). At the suggestion of my husband, I was suppose to make a list of what is actually in our freezer (outside and inside). I've finally gotten to it today (nesting has taken over)!
I just rummaged through the freezer- pulling out most everything so I could see the bottom. I wrote down everything as I pulled it out and then transferred it to a "pretty list" so I could mark off what I've used as I pull it out.

Here's our lists:
Inside Freezer:
Breakfast items:
pancakes
waffles
banana muffins
puff pancakes
biscuits
sausage
2.5 pkg bacon

Veggies:
frozen corn
3.5 pkg broccoli
Bread:
hamburger buns
flour tortillas
thick corn tortillas
corn tortillas

pizza rolls
chocolate chips
cookie dough

** You don't have to categorize- I just did because I'm a nut and wanted to see the inside items more clearly

Outside Freezer:
2 butter
2 mozzarella cheese
4 mexican cheese
choc/vanilla ice cream
Slow Cooker Beef Stew
Glazed Ham
2 pkg meatballs
2 chipolte steaks
3 roasts
Chicken for enchiladas
4 pkg taco meat
5 pkg cooked chicken

Casseroles (at bottom):
Dream Spaghetti
Chicken Spaghetti
Chicken Tortilla Roll-ups
2 Chicken Pot Pies
Spinach Rice Casserole
Cream of Chicken Casserole
hoagie rolls
4 loaves bread
2 pkg hamburgers
5 lbs hamburger (uncooked)
5 lbs chicken breasts (uncooked)

**I just taped the list to the top of the freezer along with pen- this will be easiest for me to remember!

Cooking ahead for Baby...

As most of you know, I'm due March 29th with our 4th child. I also love Once-A-Month Cooking. So I figured it was only smart to prepare for this baby by getting meals ready ahead of time so that I won't be running around crazy after the baby comes trying to transition- especially since my husband's job has wacky, longer hours. This should help with my sanity.

Thanks to my mom being here, I had the opportunity to get some meals prepared from meat I had stocked up in my freezer. I don't have a list of what's in my very full freezer yet, but I hope to get that accomplished tomorrow. At my husband's suggestion, I'll be making a list of everything we have in the freezer and hanging it up next to it so that I can cross things off as we eat them. This week alone I was able to make:
Cheesy Chicken and Rice
Mushroom Chicken and Rice,
Spinach Rice Casserole,
Dream Spaghetti,
8 lbs of cooked Taco Meat separated into 6 bags,
8 lbs of chicken breasts pressure cooked, shredded and separated to use later to make enchiladas, cheesy chicken noodle, quesadillas, chimichangas, chicken taco pizza, chicken pizza, and to add in salad,
4 chipolte-marinated steaks separated into 3 portions- one for stir-fry, one for fajitas and two to grill up,
and 25 homemade egg, sausage and cheese breakfast pockets

So I have about 20 meals that I prepared this week- I still have to make the pizza crusts to freeze and I may try to make my own flour tortillas to freeze if I get ambitious! Obviously, not all of what I did was creating a complete meal, but having the cooked meat ready will save me a tremendous about of time and energy!

I hope I can fit in a Baking Day soon so I can have some muffins, pancakes, waffles and bread prepared. We'll see how I feel though! I'll post pictures and my complete freezer list soon!

My Super-Duper Target trip

First off, to get these great deals I had to go register at A Full Cup - they are a website with links to all kinds of coupons, but what I love is their Target Coupon Generator which saves the past coupons from the Target website that haven't expired. You'll have to go there for some of these coupons and you'll have to register with them- but it's SO worth it!

Top Round Steak or Roast- $2.49/lb
I bought one 3.23 lb roast (there were some as small as 1.5lb) and used the $2/1 pkg coupon
I ended up paying $1.87/lb but you could pay as little as $1.73 for a 1.5lb roast!!

Motts Applesauce- $1.69
$1 off Target coupon
$0.69 for a package!! (I got 5 of these)

Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks- $1.79
$0.50 off Target coupon and $0.75/2 coupon
$1.83 for 2 pkgs or $0.92 for 1 (I got 4 pkgs)

The great Goldfish deal is still going on!
Pepperidge Farm Goldfish- $1.79 per package
$1 off Target coupon from A Full Cup Target Coupon Generator here
$0.79 per package (I got 3 more packages)

Archer Farms Cereal- many kinds on sale $1.89
$1 off Target coupon from Coupon Generator here
$0.89 per box! (and we've had these before- taste the same as the name brand!)

Chex Mix- $2.14
$.50 off Target coupon from Coupon Generator here and $0.60 off here
$1.04 per package

Red Grapes- $0.99/lb

Strawberries- $2.49/lb

Kiwi- $0.33 each

I also found twin size 200-ct sheet set (pillow case, flat and fitted sheet) for $7.49! This is great as a back up set for our girls' beds!

I impressed my mom who went with me to push the cart as I had to ride around in a motorized wheelchair to get through our shopping trip. She said she wouldn't have believed that we saved almost $32 if she hadn't seen it herself!

Target- how to save

For those of you who don't know, Target offers their own coupons as well as taking manufacturer's coupons. You can use a Target coupon and manufacturer's coupon together to get a great deal.

Have you ever forgotten your coupons at home? I had heard recently that you could print your Target coupons IN the store from one of their kiosks (the computers next to customer service). I decided to try this last week. All you have to do is go to a kiosk, click on view Target.com and click on the Weekly Ad link. At the bottom of the page (in the middle) is the link for Target coupons (just as if you were on your personal computer). You just complete the steps like you would at home and the coupons print right there! Pretty sweet deal :)

Here are some deals this week at Target:

Sutton & Dodge Steakhouse quality steak or roast- $2.49/lb
Use the Target $2/1 pkg coupon here
Prices will depend on poundage, but a package 3lb-6lb will be
$1.82/lb- $2.16/lb-- not bad for "steakhouse quality"

Towels and Sheets are on sale this week for $5

There are some other deals like applesauce and fruit snacks, but I'm not sure the prices. I plan on going this afternoon so I'll update soon!

Awesome Huggies Diaper coupons!

Hurry, hurry, hurry over to Coupons.com to print your Huggies diaper coupons.
They have a $5/1 Gentle Care Product coupon and $3/1 Natural Fit Product coupon.
You can print 2 of each, but these won't last long because they'll be so popular!

*Save these for the week of 3/8- Walgreens is suppose to have these on sale for $10 each, buy $25 worth, get $10 Register Reward (to use on your next purchase).

This is a possible scenario:
Transaction #1:
Buy 2 pkgs Gentle Care Diapers and 1 pkg Natural Fit Diapers
Spend $30 minus $13 in coupons= $17 out of pocket
Get $10 Register Reward

Transaction #2: Another pkg of Huggies Diapers
$10 minus $10 Register Reward=
FREE pkg of diapers

Total out of pocket: $17 for 4 pkgs of diapers or $4.25 per pkg

*If you have can get 4 copies of the coupons (this is possible if a friend prints them off for you or if you have access to more than one computer)
Best Scenario:
Transaction #1: Buy 3 pkgs of Gentle Care Diapers
$30 minus $15 in coupons= $15 out of pocket
Get $10 Register Rewards

Transaction #2: Buy 1 pkg Gentle Care Diapers and 2 pkgs Natural Fit Diapers
$30 minus $11 in coupons=$19 out of pocket
Get another $10 Register Rewards

Transaction #3: Buy 2 pkg of Huggies diapers
$20 minus your 2 Register Rewards (you may have to do these in 2 seperate transactions)
2 pkg FREE diapers

Total out of pocket= $34 for 8 pkgs or $4.25

***This scenario was updated as my blog friend, Sarah, let me know that if you use the Register Rewards from the Huggies promotion toward the Huggies promotion- you won't get another Register Reward coupon. To utilize this promotion you either want to use the RR toward another regularly priced pkg of diapers or toward your other purchases at Walgreens. I'll come up with some more scenarios that week to help you get the most out of your RR

Sorry for the delay...

Thanks to all the great ladies who read my blog! Sorry I've been so sporadic lately. It's turning out that pregnancy #4 has been harder than the others. I've been suffering from severe pelvic muscle pain (which apparently is common in women with multiple births so close) and the only "magic cure" is giving birth. :) Fortunately, that's not so far away for me- 4 weeks or less now!

Thankfully, my mom will be visiting this next week (while my husband flies to Los Angeles for business) to help prepare my house for our new baby girl since I've been somewhat confined to "resting" these days to overcome the pain. So look forward to lots more blogging next week! Thanks so much for all your support for my blog. I really enjoy providing these great deals for other moms like me-- just looking for the best deal!

My AWESOME Deal for the Week!

So that $2 Sunday paper I bought all the way back in January to get the Procter & Gamble coupons, really paid off for me today! After hearing about this Procter & Gamble deal- Buy $40 worth of products get a $15 gas card- here and the fact that I had a TON of P&G coupons that expired 2/28- I decided to try it.

Food Pyramid was a participating store which was even better since they DOUBLE coupons $0.50 or less. This really helped me make this deal great. As an added bonus, I also had a coupon for $5 off a $50 purchase at Food Pyramid from my Entertainment book that I got last year for FREE. So here's the break down:

(I needed milk which was on sale for $2.89 a gallon x3 and apple juice that was on sale as well)

$54.89 for my order before coupons ($44.53 in Procter & Gamble products)

-$5 coupon from Entertainment book

-$19.70 in manufacturer's coupons ($3.55 in which was doubled to be $7.10)

= $30.19 out-of-pocket

-$10.36 I spent on milk and juice

=$19.83 on Procter & Gamble products

-$15 gas card from mail-in rebate

= $4.83 after coupons and deal on Procter & Gamble products

So what percentage did I save?

$44.53 in products for $19.83 is a 55.5% savings

$44.53 in products for $4.83 (after gas card savings) is a 89.2% savings!!
And what did I get?
Tide Detergent, Disinfecting wipes, spray and mop cleaners, 2 bottles of dish detergent, rinse aid, toothpaste, 20 disposable razors, 2 rolls of paper towels and 2 boxes of baby wipes!

*The picture is of all my P&G products minus another set of wipes

My Old Navy Deal- Save $32, spend $2!

Okay-- so going to Old Navy yesterday with 3 kids to pick up the Valentine coloring sheets was less than wonderful. BUT, today we got 3 shirts and 2 pairs of flip-flops for $2! Old Navy already had a great kids and baby sale going on plus with our $5 off each transaction- we did 3 transactions.

Our first was a great deal on lighter long sleeve shirts for spring- 2 for $6 so we paid $1.09 out of pocket. Our second was on a cute tee that said "Daddy's Lil Skipper" which we got for our soon-to-be 3 yr old's birthday present- $6, $1.09 out of pocket! Then our 4 year old loved the flip-flops and they'll be needing some soon for spring and summer- 2 for $5- we paid NOTHING! It was better than going garage sale-ing :)

As an added bonus- for each transaction they were giving away a 40% off a single item coupon to be used Feb. 20-25. So we now have 3 of those coupons! You can't beat that!

After a long break....

I'm BACK! After a long break and a lot of travel and company at our house, I'm finally back to blogging. Sorry for the extended silence, but I'm back with good news.

First off, I'll be speaking THIS Thursday, Jan. 8 at the Owasso MOMS Club about couponing, budgeting and meal planning! I'm so excited about this opportunity, and I'll be publicizing this blog there as well.

Secondly, my first talk will be followed up by another great opportunity that Jenny Brown and I have been wanting to see happen for awhile now. As of right now, Wednesday, January 14 will be the kick-off of 2 sessions of a 4 week class teaching about meal planning and make-ahead meals! We're excited to be partnering with our church- Liberty Church in Broken Arrow, to offer this class in correlation with a nutrition study that our children will be participating in at the same time. So not only will the classes be free and open to any mom interested- but there will be child care available PLUS the older children will be learning about healthy nutrition at the same time! We'll be meeting this Tuesday to finalize our plans and figure out "curriculum". I'm so excited!

Be looking for regular updates on sales and coupons to help with meal planning and budgeting, as well as more information about our classes!

2009 is starting out to be a very busy- very exciting year for me... and this blog- I'm looking forward to what God has in store!
